With a strong and resilient economy, subtropical climate and close proximity to Asia, Queensland is one of the leading destinations in the world to invest in mining and resources projects.
We offer world standard production of mineral and energy resources, and boast modern rail, port and pipeline infrastructure to support the growing sector.
Over two thirds of Queensland’s coal production is for steel production and the global shift to renewable energy, battery storage and electric vehicles present exciting new opportunities for Queensland’s resources industry.
My Government is committed to driving growth and jobs in Queensland, and we have put strategies and programs in place to see our State become a global resources leader.
The Energy, Mines and Money Conference provides a platform to showcase these growing sectors and will open discussions between investors and business leaders around new trade and investment deals, ultimately creating jobs for Queenslanders.
I am proud this internationally recognised Conference has found a home here in Queensland, with the support of our Government, and I look forward to seeing the outcomes of this year’s program.
The Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP
Premier of Queensland and Minister for Trade
